Chart coverage

Know what your map covers.

NautaCharts offers separate European inland and USA coastal chart archives. Coverage follows the source chart footprints, not country borders.

European inland waterways

The Europe archive provides inland electronic navigational chart (IENC) context for supported waterways and ports. The ingestion pipeline uses the EuRIS catalogue and national chart sources. It is not a continuous chart of every European river, lake or coastal water.

Use the Europe region in the live showcase to inspect your operating area. For specific rivers, terminals or ports, ask us to confirm the available chart cells.

USA coastal waters

The USA archive uses NOAA electronic navigational charts. Available detail depends on the chart cells and compilation scales included in the published archive. It is separate from the European inland archive and requires the appropriate account entitlement.

Source data and display are different

NautaCharts converts chart data into vector tiles and applies nautical symbol and label rules. A source feature may appear differently at different zooms because of scale rules, geometry generalization or symbol collisions. Basemap features and ENC features are also separate datasets.

Our portrayal uses S-101 and S-52 reference material alongside inland ENC attributes. This is a web chart display, not a claim of certified ECDIS equivalence. For source standards, see the International Hydrographic Organization standards and specifications.

Archive updates

Published PMTiles archives are snapshots. They do not acquire new chart cells merely because the display plugin was updated. Check the archive version and source coverage with NautaCharts when chart freshness matters to your workflow.

We do not publish a guaranteed refresh interval or a complete country-by-country coverage promise here. Contact us for the current coverage and update arrangements for your deployment.
